Queen Victoria Agave
A compact collector favorite with crisp white markings and an almost architectural rosette.
Weโll add photos of actual nursery plants and mature examples.
Keep your plant thriving
Full sun to light shade. In intense Laredo summers, give newly acclimating plants protection from harsh afternoon sun; introduce stronger light gradually.
Soak the soil thoroughly, then let it dry well before watering again. Reduce water in cool weather, especially when days are short.
Excellent for pots โ ground works with drainage
A particularly good long-term container agave thanks to its compact size. It can also be planted outdoors in a raised, sharply drained spot. Avoid placing sharp leaf tips beside walkways.
Use a fast-draining gritty mix and a pot with a working drainage hole. Heavy, wet soil can rot the crown and roots.
Typically around 1 foot tall and 1โ1.5 feet wide, though plant shape varies. Usually slow growing.
Established, dry plants can withstand some frost, but container roots are more exposed. Shelter potted plants from prolonged freezing and cold, wet conditions.
Dark green, geometric leaves carry striking white lines; each leaf ends in a sharp dark tip.
Good to know
Like most agaves, each rosette flowers once near the end of its life. Blooming may take decades; offsets vary by plant.
